What's your favorite Christmas Movie???

Tis the season to pullout those Christmas DVD's (and even some of those old VHS's)
Do you have a favorite???
We like "The Santa Clause" Movies
"It's a wonderful life",
and more recently "Christmas with the Kranks".
I remember loving the Home Alone movies as a kid and the claymation Rudolph movies are classic!
If you have a favorite (or a few), leave us a comment with them.
You can never watch too many Christmas movies and there is still some time to get in a few more before Christmas!

A WEEK OF THANKSGIVING!

We were so fortunate to be able to go to California for the week of Thanksgiving. We visited with my family and then joined Mark's on Thanksgiving. It was great to see our FAMILY. It was FUN getting the cousins together. Kayley celebrated her 6th Birthday while we were there. We went to Chuck E Cheeses with my family, everyone had lots of FUN, we ended here special day with a pizza party with cake and ice cream. The kids did such a good job while we traveled, it is a LONG way to Cali!

Tammy's Family Group Photo

This is Tammy's side of the family. It was quite the task (as all of you with several adult siblings know) to get all these busy families in the same place at the same time - let alone to get all the kids to smile on a TIMER! We did it though...well almost.
It was so fun to be down in Cali with all of them last week! We already miss them. I'm sure next year we will NOT all fit around that couch!

THE REFLECTIONS ASSEMBLY WAS THIS AFTERNOON. BOTH MORIAH AND KAYLEY WORKED ON TWO PROJECTS. MORIAH RECEIVED A RIBBON FOR HER MONKEY SCULPTURE AND KAYLEY RECEIVED RIBBONS FOR BOTH OF HER PROJECTS. ALL THOSE THAT PARTICIPATED GOT A DOUGHNUT AFTER THE ASSEMBLY!

Learning to read...

Kayley has been doing really well with her sight words and 3 letter sound-out words. She is starting to read more books now and her reading vocab is expanding. I am fairly sure that she is still on the 'guess what the words are by looking at the pictures' stage when she said this:
"I showed my brown balloons to the... Daddy, what starts with 'A' and looks like a monkey?"
I just started laughing!
P.S. The answer was APE!

Checking out Moroni...

Yesterday we went down to Sanpete county to check out different places to live. As many of you know already, we are preparing to move down there this summer (once the fellowship is over).
Some of the choices:

Moroni - where the office is;
Mt. Pleasant - where the hospital is;
Ephraim where the college is (as well as WALMART and more people!).

So I thought would be fun to give everyone a little information on the area:
Sanpete County:
About an hour south of Provo
pop ~25,000 people

Moroni:
pop ~1200.
Has it's own Elementary school and the No. County Middle School
(as well as the Turkey Plant!)

Mt. Pleasant:
pop ~ 2,800
Has Elementary and the No. County High School
The closest golf course - 9 holes (although it may be closer to Fairview)

Ephraim:
pop ~5,200
Has Elementary and So. County Middle School
Also home of Snow College

There are 30+ lakes/ponds/rivers in the area with lots of mountain trails and such. Here are some of the bigger ones:
Lakes and reservoirs: Hamburger Lake, Harmonica Lake, Hartney Lake, Rush Pond, Marys Lake, Blind Lake, Blue Lake, Island Lake
Streams, rivers, and creeks: Acord Fork, PC Fork, Maple Fork, Peach Canyon Creek, Jimmys Fork, Petes Creek, Petes Fork, Pigeon Creek, Jason Creek

I think we are really leaning towards Ephraim or Moroni, but if anyone else has a suggestion let us know (please limit those suggestions to the Sanpete area!) ;)

Winter Is Here!

It is definitely getting cold out. Time to break out the "winter stuff"!

The doggies FIRST real SNOW!

Moriah and Kayley on their way home from school.
(Even though the snow melted by the end of the day, it was still COLD out!)

Halloween Day

So Mark posted our really cool family picture, but here is how the rest of our day went.
Our Cute Little SuperMan!
This being Jacob's first Halloween that he is actually interested in I took a few extra photos, and felt the need to post them!

At the School watching Moriah, Kayley and their cousins in the school parade!

Flag Football

Yesterday the Elder's quorum challenged the Young Men to a game of Flag Football. What were we thinking?
It was a lot of fun and the weather was perfect. And we actually were winning until the young men decided to get out of bed and finally show up!
What I didn't know was that my "stalker wife" (see school posts: 1, 2) took pictures of us while we played.
Enjoy:
That was me rushing Scott (QB for the YM) but apparently I arrived at 5 Mississippi a little too late!

What a play! Notice the clean running patterns!

After another play... notice the hustle back to the line of scrimmage!

My Goal for our next game: Count to 5 Mississippi FASTER!

Halloween Picture Fun

I am sure that Tammy will blog more about Halloween but I thought I would post one of our Halloween family pictures.
This one is my favorite:
